When geishas are getting started, have to make a Debut, where they have to show their talents, as a prove about their value, usually they dance and sing, they were considered artists, after It they will be apprentice geishas, also called “maiko” and they keep dancing on events, to increase their value of course they get a pay for it.. I post you a video from the movie “memoirs of a geisha” where you can see Sayuri’s debut, (the protagonist)

Hey there!
Hey there, this is Yenn; I'll be posting some interesting information about Geisha's culture :). I create this blog as my English project, why do I choose Geisha's culture as topic? Just because of a book: "Memoirs of a Geisha" - Arthur Golden
It was published on 1997, there's also a movie, it came out in 2005, to be honest I didn't like the movie, I couldn't understand like 70% of it! I don't judge it; I think is already hard to compress a hold life in 660 pages, so I can't imagine how to do it in 145 minutes. Even so, the fact about not understanding a movie motivates me to read the book, and it was one of my best decisions of that year. It is the best book I ever read, I consider it perfect, so when I finish it I felt kind of empty, so I start to look for more books and information about Geishas, Japanese culture, Asian culture and so on. So I hope you find interesting my blog, I’ll be trying to recommend books related with the topic or just dramatic novels from other cultures that are the ones I use to read, movies, articles, random facts, pictures or any interesting info that I might found any questions I’ll be trying to solve it as sun as possible because I think there’s so many people that don’t know about geishas (at least I didn’t before the book), and because is my English project.
